Airborne Seniors 2011

This wonderful group of young ladies (left to right: Anna, Taylor, Joyce, and Ellese) are filled with not only gymnastics talent but academic intelligence as well. The road for most of these girls took dedication, perseverance, sacrifice both personal and financial, and many years of ups and downs. The gymnastics journey from childhood to collegiate gymnast is a tremendous accomplishment. Congratulations to all of our gymnasts, their families, and coaches who have worked very hard to make these dreams come true. We at Airborne wish all of you the very best! We will miss you!

This year's amazing seniors:

Ellese Sakai-Hart

College: University of Denver
Years at Airborne: 3

An interesting fact about me:   "Whenever the clock has all the same numbers in a row, I kiss something red and make a wish."

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "The Amazing Race and dressing up for Halloween, Super Bowl, April Fool's Day, and all the other special occasions."

What I am going to miss most:    "My team mates who have become like sisters and being around other people that have a purpose and a goal in doing gymnastics. I will also miss the coaching that has allowed me to reach my full potential."

Ellese Sakai Hart

Joyce Li

College: Yale University
Years at Airborne: 7

An interesting fact about me:   "I've loved art since I was little, and I still paint in my free time."

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "For Halloween one year, we chose to dress up as animals, so we all came decked out in different animal costumes, except for Justin, who wore a swim parka and an old leotard. It was the most fun I have ever had on a Saturday morning."

What I am going to miss most:    "The team and the energy they bring to the gym. They always know how to make me smile... then laugh until I can't breathe."

Joyce Li

Taylor Madison

College: Cornell University
Years at Airborne:  2.5

An interesting fact about me:   "At on time, I had 18 chinchillas! I planned on selling them to help with my college fund."

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "The day I walked into Airborne to try out is a day I will never forget. The girls were so friendly, and they made me feel part of the team immediately. By the end of the practice I was dead-dog tired, but so happy to be part of the incredible atmosphere they had created. I also will never forget the feeling I had the first time I competed for Airborne. Instead of being intimidated, I had confidence in myself!"

What I am going to miss most:    "First and foremost, I am going to miss all of the amazing friends I have made, who have been there no matter what. The bond that we have is unforgettable. I am also going to miss the sense of history at Airborne. When I look up at the wall with all the logos of the colleges, I know that all those girls spent hours in the gym, working as hard as they could to achieve their goals. That is inspiring!"

Taylor Madison

Ana Jaworski

College: Southern Utah University
Years at Airborne: 14 (started summer before Kindergarten)

An interesting fact about me:   "I own over 100 pairs of socks...
I love the Oakland A's baseball team...
I want to be a pastry chef...
I am almost always the shortest on the team."

A great memory from my years at Airborne:    "There have been so many! Probably joking around with Justin or team bonding.

What I am going to miss most:    "My teammates, because they are my sisters! (: I will miss all of the awesome times we've had and the support they give. They always make me laugh and smile (especially my little ones!)"
